Azhrarn and Sivesh

AZHRARN AND SIVESH

8.5x11 Pencil on Paper

At the time I did this I was reading Tanith Lee's Novel 'Nights Master'. I think I got as far as page 17 before I already had visual images springing into my mind. Tanith Lee is one of those writers that creates beautiful visual imagery with her words. I hope to revisit this idea and do a painting based on these characters. Azhrarn is the Prince of the Underearth and his companion on horse back is Sivesh. A mortal that Azhrarn saved as a child a bestowed with Demon gifts. How could you not want to paint that? Maybe I'll wait  until I finish the book.

MADONNA & CHILD

I enjoyed working on this piece. It was fun to re-imagine a classic fantasy
image of the rearing Lindworm (a wingless Wyvern) without the human warrior
as the protaganist.

This time Mother Nature is the enemy!

St. Marks Church

ST. MARKS CHURCH

8.5x11/ink on paper

An ink sketch of St. Mark's Church, Niagara on the Lake, Ontario.

Niagara on the Lake is a quaint town minutes from my house boasting
beautiful architecture from the early 1800's as well as a bevy of wineries
and fine dining.

I've always thought this church looked like a small castle!
