#199 - Home and Shorts Program

I decided going into work with all the rain coming our way was in my best interest.

So, I took the extra time to sleep in and have a slower morning.

My workday was less stressful that usual as we are waiting for a few things to happen and for some decisions to be made. After that happens, we’ll be back to getting things done as quickly as possible.

I did what I could today.

At lunchtime it was still raining, so we skipped our walk. I had signed up to attend the Shorts Program, one of our sister companies runs and made available to us. I was interested to see what was involved and all the requirements. They gave a comprehensive presentation that answered all my questions. It looked like forty to fifty people showed up to the presentation.

I received feedback from my writing mentor on the last assignment and was pleased to see I had done it well in her opinion. The next step in the assignment would be to take the opening and finish the story, but we both agreed this was going to be a novel and not a short story.

She urged me to finish it as a novella or novel, and I think I may write this book first since it’s still fresh. I’ve been looking for something I could sink my teeth into, to get my daily word quota, and this seems to fit the bill.

I’m going to keep this blog post short tonight and make up the words on the weekend as we don’t have that much planned other than a birthday dinner at Red Lobster and a breakfast with some friends. I need to bake a Tres Leche cake on Friday evening as well. I’ll also need the weekend to gather the last of my tax information as well.

Okay, so the weekend isn’t completely free, but it’s less hectic than the week before.

Every year I promise myself that I am going to do this monthly, and I always forget. Maybe I need to add it as a streak, so it gets entered in my daily-tasks notebook.

Robyn is enjoying the smart mug I bought her, and it has already saved her from reheating her drink a few times.

We head to our friends for Survivor, Pizza, Hot Tub tomorrow night and we have decided to reorder the Blondies pizza as it was well liked by all.

Okay, keeping this short as promised. Off to bed so we can catch the early train to work.

Night all.
