#255 - Full Intensions and Humidity

I had full intentions to go I to the studio today!

But then I thought about the humidity, the heat and the chance of rain. Andi had a lot of work to catch up on. Working from home gives me hours to get things done.

And to top it off, I wanted to take our walk in the park at lunch. I really needed the exercise. And commuting is all punishment with little gain.

So, I was awake at seven, because my alarm went off, but made the audible to stay in bed for an extra hour and a half. As a result, I was able to get through a boat load of approvals. All day, that was all I did.

I've been eating All-bran with raisins for breakfast the last few days to try and get some more fibre and to eat a healthier diet. I made two batches of pickled eggs last night as well to have some more healthy snack at my fingertips. The snacks are my Achilles heel.

The walk at lunch was a bit more grueling than usual due to the humidity and heat. But getting a bit of a sweat going is what I need right now. My lower back has been killing me since the weekend when I sat in an odd slouching position for too many hours when friends came over.

The walk did me good and let me stretch that part of my body out and to warm up the muscles. I did a bit of a stretch on the floor when we returned home and felt a little better.

The rest of the day was more of the same. Approvals, approvals, approvals.

By six I was done for the day and headed straight to Sobey’s to pick up a few items to make the marinade for the Chicken Ruby. I picked up some honey crisp apples to make a healthy muffin recipe; a friend lovingly calls them “Depth Charge Muffins.”

I also picked up some prunes to replace the raisins in my All Bran. I like the taste of prunes over a raisin.

Granted, there is a large amount to All Bran and oats in each one. But an aging man needs his fiber. I managed to find some kiwis for the sleep aid protocol and few other things.

I made up the marinade when I came home for a double recipe to feed us at the cottage this weekend. Sounds like the cottage weekend isn’t going to be a relaxing trip as it turns out we are expected to sand and paint things all weekend. I’ll need a day off after my two days off.

I planted the last plant for the weekend buying splurge and felt great about how the back garden is looking right now.

Robyn made us dinner while I dealt with the marinade and the kids told us about their day at Canada’s Wonderland.

By the time all this was done and tidied away it was nine o’clock. Where did the day go?

We watched two episodes of “The Burroughs,” which is a charming show. We would have watched a third, but Robyn kicked me out of the room to go do some writing. And we have an early morning tomorrow as we HAVE to go into the studio.

It’s supposed to be uncomfortably hot and muggy again tomorrow with the possibility of thunderstorms. Gross.

I’m going to stop at the St. Lawerence Market on the walk home to grab more pomegranate seeds for the Chicken Ruby weekend supper.

Going to keep this one short as I’ve taken all three of my sleep aids and can feel the tug of sweet slumber calling me.

Until tomorrow.
