#281 - Keeping The Streak Alive

I went to bed around seven AM this morning because I left my writing assignment until the last moment once again.

This is not something to be proud of. It needs to change.

Will this be the week I do it?

Honestly, I have no idea. I do know that I hate staying up for hours writing under that kind of pressure. But I also love it in a way, because I managed to accomplish something. I can’t deny that fact. I made something.

But this way of making is not sustainable. It’s great to know you can do it, but it’s not the way forward into the future. But I’ve said all this before and then done the same thig over and over again.

I woke tired, but feeling better than I had any right to be around nine. I stayed in bed for another forty-five minutes and then ambled downstairs to make myself a cortado coffee. I was going to need the caffeine boost this morning.

I got to work doing some approvals and then had a meeting at eleven with my supervisor and counterpart. The three of us banged out a game plan and then broke for lunch.

Robyn had an appointment at the bank, so I did our short walk around the neighbourhood and returned just in time for the one o’clock meeting with our team.

After that it was back to doing revisions and approvals, except this time around I sent back the paintings to the artists to revise. One of the things we talked about was making sure to send the revisions to the artists to help them understand what things we are seeing that need corrections or that our client has been calling out.

By five PM, I was completely wiped out and made a beeline for the bed. I took an hour’s nap and then went down to the kitchen to make some makhani sauce and chicken for dinner. It took an hour and a half, but it was finished just as Robyn came home from her job.

The kids came downstairs to join us for dinner, lured by the promise of chicken ruby. That means there wasn’t much left for tomorrow, but I was glad that we managed to eat together and that everyone enjoyed the meal.

After dinner, Robyn and I went for a walk, and I was dying the whole way. The lack f sleep was catching up to me and the lovely meal we had just eaten wasn’t helping either.

Back home, there was an episode of House of the Dragon queued up for us to watch, and I was more than happy just to sit back and relax for an hour.

It’s now eleven forty-five. I have taken my tart cherry juice and will have my magnesium glycinate before brushing my teeth. Although, I don’t think I will have any trouble falling asleep tonight.

Keeping the streak alive.

Keeping it short tonight.

Until tomorrow.
