A Night Out with the Lovettes
Share

Robyn and I, along with our friends John and Jody, headed out to the Oakville Center for the Performing Arts last night for a walk through the seminal female artists of the 40's, 50's and 60's.
This is third show I have attended at the venue and all three were great. The first was a show called Six Guitars and was a one man show featuring six music styles portrayed through six imaginary characters.

The second was comedian Collin Mochrie and hypnotist Asad Mecci in a show called Hyprov. Imagine if you will, 'Whose Line is it Anyways' but all the other comedians are replaced with hypnotized audience members. Great fun ensued!
The Lovettes had great voices and bang on harmonies. They were backed by a stellar band with a horn section. When is the last time you heard a horn section? Well, its been a while for me. The world needs more brass!
Anyways, the Lovettes put on a great show and played a few numbers I either hadn't heard before or had forgotten about.
