Dinner with Friends and Writing Fail

We had an easy morning after last nights movie night. Zootopia 2 was great. It had so many call outs to other movies only adults would get, like Silence of the Lambs as an example.
The movie looked beautiful, which is no surprise if you have seen the first installment. They did a great job of making the story enjoyable for all ages. I’d recommend it to anyone.
In the evening, we met some friends for an early reservation at the Keg in Burlington. I kind of felt like Kramer’s father. Our appointment was for 4:45 pm. They don’t even offer the early bird special like in that Seinfeld episode. Made me feel like an old man. (Grin).
I had a steak with the mushrooms and garlic mash. The steak never disappointed at the Keg. The bill elicited a bit of sticker shock. Not that the Keg is outrageously priced, but it seems like the prices for food is getting a little out of hand. Luckily, we had a gift card to soften the blow.
Some of you might be wondering how the writing before the movie started went. It went poorly, or not at all to be honest. We ordered some food at the theatre and by the time I finished eating my chicken tenders and fries the movie had started. I’m still searching for that perfect mobile solution. To be fait, I don’t think anyone had come up with that secret sauce. Small enough to take with you, ability to write and transfer or upload your work and a decent sized screen, preferably e-ink.
It's likely that combo will ever be a possibility, but a guy can dream.
I’ve been reading a few writing books by Chris Fox. They cover the topics I am currently focused on. Mostly writing faster and everyday. I picked up “5000 Words Per Hour” and “Lifelong Writing Habit”. Both are short reads and contain little filler, which I appreciate. Don’t need to hear about the authors traumatic childhood to learn tactics to write faster and more consistently.
I’ll have a few more words on these books tomorrow.
And maybe some new writing strategies to implement.
