Racoon Proofing the Attic

We spent most of the day removing the bent aluminum soffits around one of the window dormers. Damage caused by Racoons pushing their way into out attic space. 

Not sure why the builders left such an open space, well that's not true, it saved them time and money. So up went the ladder and a safety rope. I straighten out the rails and reattached them using way screws than the builder did.

Then I added in crossbeams for extra support and to attack some 1cm squared wire mesh.

After that the soffits went back up. 

It all looks brand new and the wire and crossbeams should prevent the trash pandas from being able to push up and through the thin aluminum soffits.
