Selling Yourself and Not Your Soul

Today was all about revisiting the concept of sales copy. These days it ends up being the descriptive information that lives just above the buy button for a book.
It's generally all the words on the back cover of a printed book helping you decided if its the type of story you want to read. The cover does this first, of course, but the sales copy tells you a more detail.
It's a bit of an artform in itself and requires a completely different mindset to the actual writing of the story. For that reason I usually wait at least a few days to write it for a story I've completed.
It's one of those thing I am not entirely comfortable with as it involves selling yourself and your story in a way that is counter to my personality. however uncomfortable it is, it's a necessary part of the whole writing ecosystem.
At least if you hope to have people read what you write.
