Speaking of Streaking
Share

The other day I was talking about the power of streaks. The cumulative power of just doing a thing everyday or every week.
We are lucky to live within walking distance of a Provincial Park.
And we take full advantage of it.
Its become a daily habit to hike for an hour or two in the afternoon through the wooded trails. We share the trail with mountain bikes and plenty of dog walkers. Passing dogs often give us odd looks, not understanding why we don't have a dog of our own with us.
There is nothing like a long walk to get your creative juices flowing... other than napping of course.... Napping trumps all others.
Today the leaves were blanketing the forest floor, and it smelled like fall. The air was spiced with cedar boughs, pines needles and a little wood smoke from a nearby campfire. Occasionally we got a whiff of decomposing fish, the salmon just having finished their run up the creek to their spawning grounds.
Apart from the obvious health benefits of getting us up of our duffs, these walks are balm for the mind and soul as well.

Wonderful, but, why don’t you have a dog? ;)
