The First Post is Always the Hardest

Taking that first leap off of the edge into the unknown is always a scary thing. My writing coach encourages his students to 'get out of their own way' in order to succeed.

After all, it's not like writing a story is a life or death experience, even if it feels that way at the time.

So, here I am, standing on that precipice, looking down, calculating how far the drop must be. My right foot raises from the soil, and juts out over the chasm.
