Valentine's Dinner Out
Share
I finished my sixth assignment for my writing mentorship this evening. I wrote the bulk of the scene earlier in the day and went over it when I returned home from supper.
We were invited to our friends Paul and Laura for a spectacular dinner of prime rib, mashed potatoes, carrots and green beans with the best roasted parsnips I’ve ever tasted. Laura baked homemade cherry donuts for dessert.
We chatted before and after dinner for hours and had a great evening.
One the way home we realized our newly repaired car had heat only working on the driver side. Sounds like when the dealership put a new wiring harness on, they might have missed a few things. Guess we are taking it back to get fixed properly.
We had an easy day otherwise. We only had the dinner plans and my writing on the books. I could easily sleep all day though as I was feeling drained. It is partly the daily writing schedule as I am not entirely adapted to writing this much. But I do feel myself getting stronger.
My new magnetic lids arrived today for my heated smart mug. What a joy they are to use. So easy to remove and clean. The action of the slide has a satisfying click going from each position. Solving those little daily annoyances adds so much to your day.
I ordered some peanut butter powder and ground chia seeds to make some overnight oats. I saw this recipe on YouTube and thought I’d give it a try. It will be another addition to my healthy grab and go breakfasts now that I’ll be back at work.
Happy Valentine’s day to everyone.
Especially to my lovely wife Robyn, who makes everything in my life better.
xoxo
